Is this pergola fully waterproof?
The SplitZone™ is designed to provide excellent shelter from rain during normal outdoor conditions. When the louvres are fully closed, the roof provides strong rain protection, with rainwater channelled away through the integrated gutter and drainage system. However, in extreme weather — such as wind-driven rain or very heavy storms — some ingress can occur. This pergola is an outdoor structure, not a sealed room. In high winds, the louvres should be opened to protect the structure (see the wind safety note below).
Does the pergola need to be fixed to the ground?
Yes — the SplitZone™ must be securely bolted to a solid surface such as a concrete patio, paving slabs or a suitable decking base. The five posts (four corners plus the mid-beam support post) each have a 139 mm × 139 mm base plate with four bolt holes, concealed beneath a 177 mm decorative base cover. Fixing the pergola correctly is essential for safety and structural stability, particularly in adverse weather. Our professional installation team can take care of this for you if required.
Can I add extra screens, sliding doors or other accessories?
