Is the black surface a painted finish or a stain?

It's a hand-applied black stain — not a solid paint that hides the wood beneath. The natural mango grain remains visible through the stain, giving the surface depth and warmth rather than reading as a flat painted colour. Each table will show its own grain pattern through the black finish.

Will my table look exactly like the photos?

The overall form, base and black stain will be consistent. Grain pattern and tonal variation through the stain will differ between tables — this is a characteristic of natural solid mango wood, not a defect.
