What exactly is a live edge table?
A live edge table is made from a wood slab where the natural outer edge of the tree — including its curves, undulations and organic contour — is preserved rather than cut to a straight line. Will my table look exactly like the photos?
The base, overall dimensions and surface finish will be consistent. However, the live edge silhouette, grain pattern and tonal variation will be entirely different between pieces — that's the nature of a live edge product. No two slabs from any tree are the same. The photos show the character and quality of the piece; yours will have its own distinct edge profile and grain story. This isn't a caveat — it's the point.
Why acacia wood rather than mango or oak?
Acacia is one of the hardest and most durable hardwoods used in furniture. It's denser than mango and many European hardwoods, which means greater resistance to surface scratching and marking over time. It also has a particularly dramatic natural grain and tonal range — deep amber, rich brown and lighter sapwood tones often appear across a single slab — which makes it especially well suited to live edge presentation where the full character of the wood is on display.
Does it require assembly?
Some assembly is required — attaching the W-base to the underside of the tabletop. This is straightforward and all fixings and instructions are included. Given the size and weight of a 200 × 100 cm solid acacia slab at 5.5 cm thick, we strongly recommend two people for assembly and positioning.
Are chairs included?
Chairs are not included and are sold separately. Live edge tables pair beautifully with a wide range of chair styles — upholstered in linen, velvet or leather for a warmer look, or rattan, wooden or metal for something more natural or industrial.
