The Mango Wood & Cane Sideboard is a piece that earns its place through the quiet confidence of its finish. Hand-crafted from solid mango wood with a softly distressed white wash, it carries the kind of relaxed, layered character that takes years to develop in older furniture — but arrives ready-made. The natural woven cane door panels bring warmth and texture, and the brushed brass hardware lifts the whole piece without overwhelming it.
Two deep drawers with dovetail joints sit above generous cane-fronted cupboard doors, giving you well-organised storage across the full 160 cm width. The slim 40 cm depth makes it an especially good fit for hallways, dining rooms and spaces where a full-depth sideboard would feel too imposing — without sacrificing any of the surface area above.
Because every piece is made from natural solid mango wood, each sideboard has its own grain pattern, knot markings and tonal variation in the distressed finish. No two are identical, and yours will be its own thing.

Solid mango wood — no veneers, no shortcuts The frame, top and drawer fronts are crafted entirely from solid mango wood — no MDF core, no chipboard, no veneer over a cheaper substrate. That means a piece with genuine structural integrity, a surface that responds well to cleaning and care, and a piece that will hold its quality over years of daily use rather than showing wear at the edges. |
|
The distressed white finish — character, not damage The hand-applied distressed white wash is designed to let the natural mango wood grain show through rather than hide it. The result is a soft, layered finish with an aged quality that feels lived-in from day one — the kind of look that usually takes decades of use to develop naturally. It works beautifully in both coastal and contemporary interiors. |
|
Natural woven cane — texture that earns its place The cupboard doors are fronted with natural woven cane webbing — warm, breathable and tactile in a way no synthetic material replicates. Against the white-washed mango frame and brass hardware, it creates a combination that feels considered and premium, and one you'd expect to find in a far more expensive piece. |
|
Drawers with dovetail joints — built to be used The two deep drawers are jointed using the traditional dovetail method — interlocking teeth cut into the wood that resist the repeated pull of opening and closing far better than stapled or glued alternatives. It's a construction detail you only notice in its absence, and one that makes a meaningful difference to how a drawer feels and functions over years of daily use. |
|
Slim 40 cm depth — fits where others won't At 40 cm deep, this sideboard is designed to sit comfortably in a hallway, against a dining room wall or in any space where a standard 50+ cm sideboard would feel too imposing. You get the full 160 cm of surface width and storage capacity without giving up proportional room depth — a genuinely useful dimension for UK homes. |
|
Brushed brass hardware — the detail that ties it together The brushed brass drawer and door hardware picks up the warm tones in the mango wood grain and adds a layer of considered detail against the white finish. Brass and distressed white is a pairing that has earned its place in interior design for good reason — it's warm, versatile and ages well together. |
In a dining room, this sideboard works hard — two drawers for cutlery and napkins, cane-fronted cupboards for everything else, and a generous surface above for a lamp, artwork and whatever you like to dress a room with. In a hallway the slim 40 cm depth means it won't block the space, but at 91 cm tall and 160 cm wide it makes a genuine first impression. It's also a natural fit for a bedroom — paired with a mirror above it sits somewhere between a dressing table and a chest of drawers, and handles both roles with equal ease. The distressed white finish works across linen, rattan, wood and coastal palettes without needing the rest of the room to change around it.

Is this solid mango wood throughout, or does it have a veneer?
The frame, top and drawer fronts are crafted from 100% solid mango wood — no MDF core, chipboard or wood-effect veneer. You're buying genuine solid hardwood throughout, which gives the piece real structural integrity and a surface that holds up to daily use far better than veneered alternatives.
Will my sideboard look exactly like the photos?
Very close, but not identical — and intentionally so. Because the piece is made from natural solid mango wood, each one has its own grain pattern, natural knot markings and slight variation in the distressed white finish. These differences are a feature of genuine solid wood furniture, not a quality concern. Your sideboard will have its own distinct character.
Is the rattan natural or synthetic?
The door panels are woven from natural cane webbing — not synthetic PE rattan. Natural cane is warmer, more breathable and more tactile than plastic alternatives, and it pairs with the distressed white and brass in a way that synthetic materials simply can't replicate.
Does it require assembly?
Minimal assembly only — the sideboard arrives almost fully assembled. You simply need to attach the six legs and the hardware on arrival, which is straightforward and takes only a few minutes. No complex flatpack process required.
What can I store inside — is there shelving behind the cane doors?
Yes — the cane-fronted cupboard doors open to internal storage. The two deep drawers above are ideal for cutlery, napkins, table linen or smaller items. Together the drawers and cupboards give you a generous amount of well-organised storage across the full 160 cm width.
