Is the mattress included?
No — the mattress is not included with the Emma bed frame. The Emma is designed to fit a standard UK 5ft king size mattress (135cm × 190cm). Mattresses are available to purchase separately on the Casa Maria website.
How does the gas-lift ottoman storage work?
The gas-lift mechanism uses hydraulic pistons to allow you to lift the entire mattress platform smoothly and with minimal effort. Once lifted, it stays open to give you full access to the under-bed storage space. To close, you gently lower the base back down. The mechanism is designed for regular, everyday use.
How do I care for the bouclé fabric?
For day-to-day maintenance, a light vacuum or soft brush will keep the bouclé loops clean and free of dust. For spot cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth and a mild detergent — dab gently rather than rubbing, which can disturb the fabric loops. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning products. The textured surface can attract pet hair and lint, so a lint roller is useful for quick touch-ups.
Is assembly required?
Yes — the Emma arrives flat packed and requires self-assembly. All fixings and a full instruction manual are included. Most customers allow 1–2 hours and find it easier with two people, as some panels are large. Please allow adequate time and a clear space before you start.
